Lifestyle brand Sterling & Singh celebrates the timeless style of polo’s golden era, the 1930s. The label’s debut capsule collection is a tribute to Stewart Iglehart, a legendary 10-goaler and amongst the top polo players in the world. His son, Stewart B. Iglehart Jr., has teamed up with Creative Director, Tasha Sterling, to create the first capsule collection.
Our hand-crafted dresses share the spirit and history of the global sport. Dress styles are named for Iglehart’s beloved polo ponies. Featuring 1930s inspired pleats, the colors and design of these pieces evoke Iglehart’s Chilean roots.
The result is an elegant capsule collection for chic spectators. Sterling & Singh not only seeks to capture the exciting, social spirit of polo but to bring it up to date with dresses perfectly suited for a day of polo, a Sunday brunch or indeed any special occasion for the modern woman.
Stewart B. Iglehart (1910-1993), considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, is the only athlete to be inducted into two American sports halls of fame. The ice hockey and polo player was also named Sports Illustrated’s “Best All Around Athlete” in 1937.
Born in Chile and raised in the United States, Iglehart was a five-time winner of the U.S. Open and represented America on four occasions versus England and Mexico.
